I created this organization because I am fascinated by the little ingredient labels
on the side of my skincare and makeup products.
However, I at first didn't really understand what any of the long names meant.
I grew up learning that if you cannot pronounce an ingredient name, it probably isn’t good for you.
While I no longer believe this (having thoroughly researched most ingredients on my products),
I believe that creating an educational platform would reassure many
cosmetic consumers worried if their products can harm them.
In addition, my mother has sensitive skin and she constantly tells me that
certain products are irritating her skin.
However, upon Googling, I could not find the root cause of the irritation.
That’s another reason why I created this, so that people with sensitive skin
can find the root cause of an irritating product.
For a rule of thumb, if something isn't labeled as suitable for sensitive skin, then I would approach it with caution.
But if an ingredient is a true issue for sensitive skin, they will be labeled.
Potentially irritating ingredients are labeled as “Potentially Sensitizing” and Known sensitive/harmful ingredients are labeled as “Toxic"
