About Us

Disclaimer: I just started this project, am a one person team, and have school, so this website might not have the ingredient/product you want!

(i have to hand write descriptions and update website)

Who Are We?

We are The Flawless Truth, an organization made by a student that provides simple explanations behind cosmetic ingredients.

We are changing the purpose of this website to be more feature-focused, which means that

ingredients of products are request-based (or by our own selection), so our website may not have what you want

read the disclaimer to know why!

Don't know what "Dimethicone" or "Butylene Glycol" means? You've arrived at the perfect place!

Head to the ingredient guide, and search for an ingredient that's been bugging your mind!

Don't want to look for a specific ingredient, but want to gaze at some of

the most popular products on the Internet? Head to the home page or look into the products tab.

Want to learn a few fun facts? Click the blog tab! (Work in Progress as of 5/26/25)

Please DM @theflawlesstruth the ingredient/product name (or comment)

or email theflawlesstruthh@gmail.com and I'll respond within 48 hours guaranteed

If for any reason I don't respond, just bump the message — I really want to help!

Our Mission

Our goal is to empower makeup and skincare lovers to be confident in their own skin and the products they use.

We want to increase visibility to the purpose of each ingredient in a product so

people understand what they are purchasing and applying onto their face.

BTW, “The Flawless Truth” might sound like we’re promoting perfection. But that’s not what we’re about.

To us, flawless doesn’t mean flawless skin.
It means the flawless understanding of what goes into your products, how ingredients work, and what makes you feel confident.

Nothing is perfect. Everything has flaws.
But knowledge? Now that's flawless.

Backstory — if you want to give it a read!

I created this organization because I am fascinated by the little ingredient labels

on the side of my skincare and makeup products.
However, I at first didn't really understand what any of the long names meant.

I grew up learning that if you cannot pronounce an ingredient name, it probably isn’t good for you.
While I no longer believe this (having thoroughly researched most ingredients on my products),
I believe that creating an educational platform would reassure many

cosmetic consumers worried if their products can harm them.

In addition, my mother has sensitive skin and she constantly tells me that

certain products are irritating her skin.
However, upon Googling, I could not find the root cause of the irritation.

That’s another reason why I created this, so that people with sensitive skin

can find the root cause of an irritating product.

For a rule of thumb, if something isn't labeled as suitable for sensitive skin, then I would approach it with caution.

But if an ingredient is a true issue for sensitive skin, they will be labeled.

Potentially irritating ingredients are labeled as “Potentially Sensitizing” and Known sensitive/harmful ingredients are labeled as “Toxic"
